About Pete Martin

Pete Martin is a full-time artist, married with two children he lives by the bay in Sandgate, a northern suburb of Brisbane. He works from a large studio surrounded by trees and native birds, away from the drone of city life where he works on up to six canvases at a time.

Pete’s works on canvas are easily recognised for their multi-layering and aerial perspectives of the Australian landscape.

After five years as a Gallery Director he has now decided to commit his energies solely to his arts practice. In the last three years alone (while running a busy 6 space gallery) he has been the recipient of 5 art awards

  • Winner Contemporary Art Award “Creative Energy” Trevisan International Art.
  • Estense Castle, Ferrara, Italy 2010
  • Finalist Waltzing Matilda Art Prize Winton Qld 2011

These awards stem from his latest solo exhibition; ‘Road Trip’ which has been shown in two regional and two commercial galleries to date.
